There is 30 nautical miles of white sandy beach stretching from Rooney Point to Moon Point in the northern part of Fraser Island. It represents eastern boarder of the island and the sea is called Platapus Bay. 



The area is well protected from prevailing winds. The depths are on average 20 meters, Platapus Bay is shallow and attracts marine life, turtles, dolphins, whales.




The scenery is stunning, colorful sand hills, native vegetation, nature at its best.




Dingos are frequently visiting the area.


The northern part of Platapus Bay, away some 40 nautical miles to the mainland Burrum Heads, Elliott Heads reaches Burnett Heads, entry to Bundaberg.

The space in between is a fabulous sailing ground.
