Bowen was a country town until a film “AUSTRALIA” with Nicole Kidman was filmed there. It quicly gained its popularity.

It is a northern gateway to the Whitsundays and many sailing vessels stop by in Bowen.



Bowen is famous for its mangoes, deliciuos fruit spreading Bowen's name all over Australia.





It has a number of stunning beaches, long walking tracks, excellent swimming and snorkelling areas and impressive sunsets.




As a picturesque costal town, Bowen attracts water loving visitors and fishermen, now film lovers as well. A TV series Faraway Downs is being filmed in BOWENWOOD!

Woodgate Beach is a settlement 55 kilometers away from Bundaberg. The main attraction is its beach, some 20 kilometers of white sand and crystal clear water leading to Platapus Bay of K'Gari.



The residents are rearded with peaceful surrounds, fresh air and wildlife. The population grows rapidly on weekends when many sicking the relaxed picknicks swimming and fishing arrive.



Woodgate Beach is a top spot to relax in close proximinty to Bundaberg.

Buffle Creek is a retreat from rat race. Total and absolute nature at its best, relaxed lifestyle. Birdlife is enchanting, so is wildlife.



Fishing is excellent. The most important is peace and quite, only noise is generated by wildlife.



Buffle Creek is located in Gladstone shire and 120 kilometers away. It closer to Bundaberg, only 60 kilometers.

Camping is the only option. The distances between campers as small or far apart as you wish. Buffle Creek is a captivating spot.

Darwin, the capital of Northern Territory, is a unique city, like no other in Australia. Located at Top End of Australia it has a close connection to Asia.


It also has many fabulous locations nearby, like Kakadu National Park or Lichfield National Park.


Darwin itself has many attractions, Mindil Beach Markets at sunset.

The 1st of July is a Territory Day wildly celebrated.

 

Darwin has hot tropical climate, no swimming though, crocodiles are popular inhabitants in the surrounding Arafura Sea. Most locals cool down in a pub.



In fact Darwin is a party Town.

There is 30 nautical miles of white sandy beach stretching from Rooney Point to Moon Point in the northern part of Fraser Island. It represents eastern boarder of the island and the sea is called Platapus Bay. 



The area is well protected from prevailing winds. The depths are on average 20 meters, Platapus Bay is shallow and attracts marine life, turtles, dolphins, whales.




The scenery is stunning, colorful sand hills, native vegetation, nature at its best.




Dingos are frequently visiting the area.


The northern part of Platapus Bay, away some 40 nautical miles to the mainland Burrum Heads, Elliott Heads reaches Burnett Heads, entry to Bundaberg.

The space in between is a fabulous sailing ground.
